The role includes the full range of nursing duties along with the responsibility of supervising a team of nursing and support staff that provide medical care and services to students (and staff where required). The role requires the ability to build relationships and work in partnership with external care providers, including doctors and physiotherapists. The role also has a close working relationship with the Timbertop Leadership Team and medical and welfare staff at the School’s Corio campus. On-site accommodation is not provided as part of this role. This is an exciting opportunity to, provide a diverse range of emergency nursing and pastoral care services and individualized holistic health care for students, support staff development, and ensure the highest standards of care in a collaborative and supportive environment.  What you will be doing Management and Coordination Manage the day-to-day operations of the Timbertop Health Centre and ensure that all its functions are carried out in accordance with school policy and procedures and that they comply with current regulations and legislation. Supervise and coordinate the nursing and support staff working within the Timbertop Health Centre, including maintaining rosters, ensuring high standards of performance and service delivery and identifying professional development needs and coordinating provision of appropriate training. Ensure nursing staff accurately assess and manage illness, injuries and accidents.  Provide regular updates and reports to the Head of Timbertop and Campus Heads of Boarding and Wellbeing on the health and wellbeing of students as required. Order, store, monitor and administer medications and medical supplies in accordance with drugs, poisons and controlled substances regulations.   Nursing  Refer students (and staff) to doctors, physiotherapists, counsellors and other allied health professionals as appropriate.  Liaise with other health workers, school personnel and parents.  Collect blood, urine and other samples for pathology.  Provide safe, caring and restorative supervision for inpatients.  Provide health screening for new students.  Provide basic first aid and assessment for staff, families and visitors.  Maintain accurate, up to date nursing records.  Ensure all information concerning patients is maintained in the strictest confidence.  Comply with OH&S regulations in work practices and maintenance of environment and equipment.  What we are looking for  Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the relevant professional body. Demonstrated experience in a nursing leadership or management role. Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of contemporary healthcare practices. Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams. Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence Ability to thrive in a remote, residential school setting  Willingness to engage in all aspects of campus life  What we offer A unique and picturesque campus environment  The chance to make a meaningful impact on the health, wellbeing and success of students and staff. Attractive salary and superannuation  Opportunities for development About us Geelong Grammar School is one of the world’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools.
